Truth Month - July 2024 - Day 10 - Do unto others as you would have others do unto you

Truth Month - July 2024

Day 10 - Do unto others as you would have others do unto you

Jesus, the Jewish Messiah, is well known to have taught this principle.

So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets. (Matt. 7:12)

He also said,

“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself.” (Luke 10:27)

“My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.”  (John 15:12-13)

Sitting down, Jesus called the Twelve and said, “Anyone who wants to be first must be the very last, and the servant of all.” (Mark 9:35)

Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves. Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. Share with the Lord’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality. (Romans 12:9–13)

Regardless of personal views of who Jesus was, most people agree that he was a wise and compassionate teacher.  He is the embodiment of the servant leader.  His moral example and teachings are of value to all, but come at a cost of everything.
