Assassination Normalization
Near miss attempts on the life of known "threats to democracy" and soon to be "dictators" are generally less newsworthy than stories about immigrant oppression and spreading hurtful lies about pets. Sadly these unfortunate "events" are expected consequences brought on by their own extreme rhetoric. Even though the antichrist is no longer simply a candidate, it is good enough that he is "mostly safe".
