Ambush Interviews
Media interactions are supposed to be platforms for promoting Ministry of Truth approved candidates (AppCans) and policies, and for attacking the unapproved. It is taboo to ask AppCans unshared tough policy questions, or to bring up uncomfortable topics. In addition, aggressive follow up questions are uncalled for, since clearly they avoided answering the first time. When pressed, the goal for AppCans should be to deflect, not directly answer questions, bloviate, or to incessantly blame their opponent. AppCans should just stay on their one (or two) talking points, and avoid getting trapped into saying anything that can pin down their positions. AppCans should never be fact-checked in public, since that could hurt their election chances.
