Rights of Nature
In a transcendental milestone, land, rivers, oceans, and ecosystems now can be granted legal rights to exist, flow, and to be free from pollution. Because they are voiceless, impartial guardians and defenders are appointed to advocate for these inherent rights. This imposes a series of obligations on the state to respect, protect, and guarantee freedom from human abuse and damage.
