Truth, Healing, and Reconciliation Commission
Major cities and states are forming reparations task forces to bring about justice, equity, and money to those still suffering from past slavery. Acknowledging, studying, and talking about the legacy and impact of slavery, and other racial injustices, will shame the prison-industrial complex, predatory lenders and redliners, and those responsible for inequality in our school systems. Innovative "reparations tourism" will bring about economic redress, by publicizing a "slavery tourist freedom trail" and informational signage at "slave market" locations. As long as minorities still vote, the promised bankrupting payments can remain virtual, because currently other progressive priorities need funding.
