Since unshared home ownership is an unjust white capitalist scheme, the Ministry of Plenty has called for equitable communal housing options.  This ambitious, aspirational proposal calls for the establishment of government ownership programs and land trusts to keep economic exploitation from taking over, which has resulted in islands of poverty in the past.  This will allow for a flourishing community under the benevolence of Big Brother. YIMBY

The "Yes, in my backyard!" movement seeks upzoning that would allow denser housing to be produced or obsolete buildings repurposed, such as shopping malls, into housing.  It calls for overrides of local exclusive zoning ordinances to allow multifamily dwellings in formerly single family neighborhoods.  YIMBY supporters include social-justice warriors, free-market libertarians who want no government regulations, and environmentalists who believe denser housing is good for the planet.  It is opposed by selfish homeowners saying, "Nope!", like the group MAID (Montanans Against Irresponsible Densification), who want to preserve neighborhood segregation and are unwilling to sacrifice their quality of life and home values.  Rewarding buyouts are being offered for actual homeowners who want to YIMBY in their own yards, and then move into bigger homes.  (See Social Housing)
