Ministry of Truth Daily Update - 28 Jan 2025 - Meta Defectors

Meta Defectors

In a stunning betrayal of Big Brother and the Ministry of Truth, major media outlets announced that they will no longer use "biased" fact-checkers.  They are abandoning Ministry approved truth moderators and are opening themselves up to abuse by purveyors of misinformation and hate speech.  We will remember these defections.

Ministry of Truth Timely Update - 20 Nov 2024 - Meme Moderation

Meme Moderation

A meme is what the Ministry of Truth says a meme is, otherwise it cannot be approved for public distribution.  Since they are the sole arbiter of what constitutes a valid meme, no appeals are allowed.  An approved meme must be obviously funny or bring an immediate laugh to the loyal masses.  While targeting the fascist right is clearly allowed, satire, dry humor, exposés, or mockery of Big Brother’s policies are forbidden.  Just because they are "a meme", does not mean that they cannot also be misinformation, and so must also pass the fact checking moderators.  We know a bad meme when we see one.  Free speech is protected in this way.

***   The modern-day definition of a meme is a humorous image, video, piece of text, or GIF that is spread across the internet, typically on social media, and often with slight variations. Memes can be created by anyone and can be about anything, from current events, to mundane tasks, to pop culture references. (Google AI)

Ministry of Truth Daily Update - 14 Sep 2023 - Scrutiny

Scrutiny

At the request of Big Brother, the media is strongly requested to take all necessary measures to investigate, gaslight, and expose the activities and motives of the opposition.  Temporary claims of conspiracies, affairs, and crimes, whether true or not, now have a lower burden of proof for publication.  These derogatory stories should never be fact checked, as the story does the damage.

Global Disinformation Index

GDI is a completely unbiased and objective source for determining the reliability and credibility of news sources.  Since it is partially sponsored by the Ministry of Truth, there can be no questioning of the accuracy of the ratings published.  Companies in good standing should only deal with organizations with high GDI scores.

Classic Earmarks of Disinformation

Label applied to unfavorable evidence or events with the goal of restricting, banning, or limiting its distribution.  This tool can be utilized effectively, regardless of its veracity, at the discretion of the Ministry of Truth.  It is best practice to gather "experts" who will make public statements disavowing information that would be damaging to the common good.
